Throughout Wednesday Vongfong is forecast to slowly turn to the west and begin to approach the central Philippines.

The maximum wave height is currently at 25 feet and the wind gusts are at 105mph but is rapidly increasing over open water.

The slow-moving Vongfong is currently a typhoon, but it continues to strengthen as it moves closer to land.

While the cyclone is expected to be a typhoon at landfall, the impacts from the winds will be more localised right around the landfall location.
