Jadon Sancho dilemma

Chelsea target Jadon Sancho wants a move to London this summer, despite reports suggesting the striker is close to signing for Manchester United.

That’s according to European football expert Gabriel Marcotti, who believes Borussia Dortmund could look to wait and see if his value goes up next season and block a move this summer.

“I’ve been told Sancho would prefer a move back home in other words to London where he grew up,” Marcotti told the BTP Media Network. “But equally I’m sure he prefers a move for wherever gives him the best package and long term prospects.

“Obviously he has leverage and in normal conditions, a United move would have happened.

“I think if I’m Borussia Dortmund, I’ve taken a big hit and ideally I’d want to keep him another year. Let him play the Euros, see if his value goes up.”

Jorginho to Juventus

Jorginho could be reunited with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri this summer.

And that’s because Juventus have opened talks with the Italian’s agent over a £35million transfer, according to reports.

The 28-year-old followed Sarri from Napoli to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal for £57m in 2018.

And the 61-year-old coach appears keen to do so again, as according to The National, Juventus have held talks over personal terms with Jorginho’s representatives.

Leeds hijack

Leeds attempted an 11th-hour bid to sabotage Manchester United’s pursuit of Sunderland teenager Joe Hugill.

The Red Devils have a £250,000 agreement in place to sign the talented 16-year-old forward, who has agreed terms on an initial scholarship deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

According to Football Insider, the Championship leaders did their best with a late offer having extensively scouted Hugill this season.

But Hugill has his ‘heart set’ on a move to Old Trafford and will be able to sign his first professional contract when turning 17 in October.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan sale

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could take a similar approach to Manchester United in an attempt to get Henrikh Mkhitaryan off the club’s books.

The 31-year-old is on loan at Roma but is set to return to the Emirates Stadium this summer where he will continue to be paid his £180,000-a-week wage.

Roma are interested in making the move a permanent one, but according to ESPN, the Gunners are holding out for £10million for the attacking midfielder.

The report claims the Giallorossi are unwilling to match his current salary and for a deal to be completed they are seeking financial assistance from the Gunners.

Odion Ighalo and Dean Henderson

Manchester United have cooled plans to sign Odion Ighalo permanently or extend his loan beyond the end of May, as they want to see what happens with the continuation of the Premier League season.

That’s according to a report in the Daily Mail, which also claims United have decided against recalling Dean Henderson from Sheffield United.

Ighalo’s current loan contract – which sees United pay him £130,000-per-week, will expire on May 31, and United will have to make an offer to Shanghai Shenhua in order to extend it.

Though according to the Mail, United are not planning to do so, and want to wait and see what happens with the rest of the Premier League season.

Solskjaer has no plans to recall the young goalkeeper Henderson, presumably because he is unlikely to unseat David de Gea.
