Reading terror attack: Multiple stabbing in town centre terror-related – security sources | UK | News


The casualties were taken to the emergency unit of the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment after an incident in Forbury Gardens. A source told the Press Association three people had been killede, but this has not been confirmed by police or emergency services. Thames Valley Police arrested a man at the scene, and he has been taken into police custody.

Writing on Twitter, Thames Valley Police added the incident was not being linked to the Black Lives Matter protests that took place today. 

The said:”We are aware of reports of an incident in Forbury Gardens, Reading.

“Officers are on the scene and investigating the incident.

“Police attended at around 7pm along with other emergency services.

“Officers arrested a man at the scene who is now in police custody.

“A number of people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. A police cordon is in place in Forbury Gardens as officers investigate. We are asking the public to avoid the area at this time

“There is no indication that this incident is linked to the Black Lives Matter protest that took place in Reading today.”
