Max Verstappen has hit back at those who may have taken offence to his radio comments following the collision with Lance Stroll at the Algarve International Circuit. FP2 for the Portuguese Grand Prix proved more eventful than most with two red flags being waved.

The first was caused when Pierre Gasly had to quickly exit his AlphaTauri after it went up in flames.

Stewards had to take some time to remove the car and all the debris from the fire but once the session was restarted, the red flag was soon out again.

Heading into the first corner, Verstappen was just starting a flying lap with Stroll coming to the end of his.

The Red Bull driver wanted to overtake Stroll but the Racing Point ace seemingly didn’t see Verstappen coming.
