Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly found how to use Angel Gomes an ‘agonising’ dilemma this season. The youngster’s contract at Old Trafford expires on July 1. And, with the clock ticking down, the Red Devils have failed to agree an extension – meaning he’s poised to leave on a free transfer.
Manchester United have seen their young players step up this season, with the likes of Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood winning Solskjaer’s trust.
But Gomes has found things far trickier with the 19-year-old limited to just six appearances this term.
The teenage talent’s contract with United expires on July 1 and, as of yet, there’s been no renewal in sight.
Solskjaer admitted earlier in the month that he wanted Gomes to stay at Old Trafford, saying: “With Angel, he’s a top top kid we’ve had in the club for so many years.
“We’ve offered him a deal, hopefully he’ll take that. If not I’ll wish him all the best.
“Hopefully, from what I understand, it’s not too far away. If not, we’ll wish him all the best.”

Meanwhile, speaking back in January, former United youngster Febian Brandy fired a warning to Gomes over his future.

“He needs to be given the right advice and I think whatever decision he makes it will be a good one.
“In my eyes I think he should stay at United because Ole knows about him and thinks very highly of him.
