Celtic are poised to wrap up a deal for Jagiellonia Bialystok star Patryk Klimala on Monday after agreeing a £3.5m fee for the striker. The 21-year-old is set to jet into Glasgow and undergo a medical in a boost to Neil Lennon, who has fought off Genoa to add the forward his Hoops squad.
Celtic have drawn up a four-and-a-half-year contract for Klimala, who’s scored nine goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for Jagiellonia Bialystok this season.
And he’ll put pen to paper on the deal as soon as he passes a set of routine health checks after touching down on Scottish soil.
Celtic have agreed to activate Klimala’s release clause after he impressed scouts with his impressive performances in his native Poland over the first half of the campaign.
The Under-21 international will come in as back-up to Odsonne Edouard, who’s made the striker position his own since joining from Paris Saint-Germain.
Celtic, who this week waved goodbye to winger Scott Sinclair, also have Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo on their books in attack.
But Lennon wanted to bring in some fresh blood to boost his side’s chances of securing Scottish Premiership title glory ahead or rivals Rangers.
Celtic have also got a Scottish Cup showdown with Partick Thistle to come and will face Copenhagen in the next stage of this season’s Europa League.
