Sir Sean Connery started his career in film and TV in the 1950’s and has been recognised for his talents over the years including an Academy Award, BAFTA award and Golden Globe. How much was the James Bond actor worth?

He was reportedly paid £12,000 for the first movie and a whopping £1million for his role in Diamonds Are Forever.

Sean also earned himself £2.3million for his acting role in Never Say Never Again.

Despite his retirement, Sean went on to voice the title role in animated feature Sir Billi, which he also produced, as well as narrating Ever to Excel, a documentary about the history of Scotland’s St Andrew University.

In 2000, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.

He also earned himself a number of awards including a BAFTA Award for Best Actor for his role in The Name of the Rose. Altogether, Sean had 19 awards to his name.

Sean also had money in property and added to his staggering fortune when he sold his Domaine de Terre Blanche estate in France, which he had owned for over 20 years.

In his personal life, Sean married actress Diane Cilento in 1962 and the pair has one son together, Jason who was born a year later.

The couple later separated in 1971 and he later went on to marry painter Micheline Roquebrune in 1975.
