If a saver continues paying money into the account after the two years, then four years after the account was opened, a second bonus will be paid.

This will be 50 percent of the difference between the highest balance saved in the first two years and the highest balance saved in the last two years.

With the payment limit per calendar month being £50, a total of £2,400 can be paid in over four years.

As such, the most a person can earn from their savings via this account in four years is £1,200 in bonus money.

Rather than the bonus being paid into the Help to Save account, it is instead paid into a person’s bank account.
